Since June 2005, ILISA has a brand new campus in Panama, in the beautiful and spacious suburb of Clayton to be exact, right in the so-called Canal Zone.
At just half a mile from the Miraflores Canal locks, 4 miles from cosmopolitan Panama city and 3 miles from the Casco Antiguo - declared a UNESCO World Heritage site - we have found the ideal location for a language school. ILISA is based in the so-called City of Knowledge - a Panamanian government initiative to create a cluster of academic organizations, technology companies and non-governmental organizations (NGO's) in what used to be Ft. Clayton.
Panama is a relatively unknown as a destination for language travel and Spanish immersion programs. That may not last long. You'll be pleasantly surprised by Panama's cultural diversity, its rich history and its high living standard. In June 2008, ILISA sold its school operation in Panama to CTRC Panama, a Canadian-owned company associated with Durham College from Canada. We thought that with this move we had brought in a financially and academically strong partner to further develop the Spanish language training options in Panama for which ILISA had laid a strong foundation. |
